I'm giving consideration to buying a coal boiler. Have come down to the S-130 Coal gun from Alternate Heating Systems and the K-6 (maybe the K-2) Keystoker. The coal gun uses a lot more electricity, but seems to be a bit more efficient. One thing with the S-130 is the hopper is quite high. I like the idea of a hopper that I don't need a small ...

If I were putting in a basement stove under the conditions you seem to desire the pocono from leisure line may be the best fit. The coaltrol definitely gives you the most adjustability, it has an optional duct top as well as 2 fans to push the air and has a higher output than eitherthe keystoker or the harman.
